LOS ANGELES, CA – August 27, 2025 – Nation of Homeowners (NOH) has partnered with Thrivent & The Gouché Foundation to launch the Future Homeowner LA Fund, a bold initiative designed to help 100 Los Angeles families begin saving early for their children’s future down payments.
Through the 100 Future Homeowner Down Payment Fund campaign, participating families will open dedicated savings accounts with Thrivent Financial. The goal is to create a model of early capital formation so that when today’s children are ready to buy, access to a down payment will no longer stand in the way of homeownership.

Why It Matters
Homeownership remains the most powerful pathway to building wealth in America. The average homeowner holds a net worth of over $400,000, compared to just $10,000 for the average renter. Yet for generations, the lack of savings for down payments and closing costs has been a persistent obstacle.
“Too many families are locked out of ownership because they can’t clear the capital hurdle,” said Nick J. Gouché, Founder of Nation of Homeowners. “This campaign changes that. By saving early, families can harness the power of compound interest and unlock generational wealth.”
“This partnership is about empowerment—giving families the tools they need to prepare early, take control of their child’s future, and build the legacies they desire,” said Marc Henderson, Market Director at Thrivent. “As someone born and raised in Los Angeles, this partnership with NOH and The Gouché Foundation is especially meaningful. For more than a century, Thrivent has put people first, and this initiative continues that tradition by helping families create lasting impact in their lives and communities.”
“The Gouché Foundation is proud to stand with Nation of Homeowners and Thrivent to rewrite the future for 100 Los Angeles families and ignite a model of empowerment for generations to come,” said Brian Hill, President of The Gouché Foundation. “By equipping families to save early, we will break cycles of financial exclusion and replace them with seeds of generational wealth—fulfilling our mission to build stronger families, stronger futures, and stronger communities.”
“Financial clarity has become a rarity in our communities. Achieving independence has too often felt out of reach because the tools for wealth creation have been missing,” said Ryan Sims, Engagement Leader at Thrivent. “I am thrilled that our partnership with NOH and The Gouché Foundation is another step toward closing the wealth, information, and access gaps for African Americans. This partnership will produce clear financial thinking, disrupt the systems that hinder wealth transfer, and build financial freedom for generations to come. This is a financial revolution.”
